Something borrowed. Crochet shorts. Pattern.

Wow. Sexy...
You can buy them for $148 here.

Kate Hudson in the movie "Something borrowed" is wearing these shorts , when she is walking with her fiancée at the beach.

I am definitely going to make beach shorts or short skirt for the next season.

Here is a topic on Osinka where girls making them together.
Patterns are taken from there.

  3. Dear angie, there is no a pattern in that topic on Osinka. It's just chatting mostly. All useful information there are charts which are the same for all languages.
Everybody is trying to figure out the best way to make it. I suggest you to take any shorts which fits you perfectly and use them as a pattern, get charts from the topic...

get yarn and try to make yours.
Here in my post is just an example of a pattern for shorts. I even don't know what size it is. Measurement is in centimeters. Anyways it's better to use you favorite shorts or get a pattern from elsewhere.
    I am sorry I can't help because I didn't make it yet.
    Can you read charts?
    Here is some information:

The thing is that Russian or Japanese recurses give you charts, not patterns. When I came here I was frustrated with patterns written on a few pages for something, I still am. I don't know how that Vogue survived when I was knitting a tunic from it. I was really a danger for people around me back at that time.
I don't get it why instead not to put a single chart.
I understand people who are used to patterns, but we all should get out of our "OK" plateau eventually.

  5. Do you have any suggestions on yarn weight or what size crochet hook to use? Thanks

    1. I would try cotton #10 or thinner, probably combine it with stretch thread, very fine, hook 1.4 mm or even 1 mm.

  6. I did my VERY best to try to recreate these shorts. While I do have a very sexy pair of shorts for myself now, they don't quite compare to these.

    1. They don't have to be exactly the same! I like yours very much. It's just that they use thinner yarn, but we are not those poor Chinese women who have to break their hands to get little money making these shorts. We can take it easy.
I am making shorts now too. Actually it's going to be skort (??) Well, shorts underneath as lining and a mini skirt on top.

    1. Hi Valentina. There is no exact pattern for these shorts. You can use charts above, but that's it. It might turn out differently. You wouldn't find the pattern on Osinka (link I mentioned) either, it's crocheting alone topic.

    1. Hi tence,
I would take shorts which perfectly fit me. To make my green shorts http://outstandingcrochet.blogspot.com/2012/07/crochet-shorts-meadow.html
I took boyish panties I like, made a paper template, made a sample, washed it, dried it, stretched it because shorts are going to stretch to the maximum, counted gouge and counted all increases, decreases. And you have to keep in mind panties are very stretchable, you shorts are won't be that way, so make a template for crotch area, but for the rest use you measurements. It's a lot of work, I had to redo some parts, but worth it because they fit perfectly. There are some simple patterns out there, like square, but we are not square-pants here, we have our curves and we all different, so I wouldn't trust them. First of all, back of the shorts must be longer than front or you risk showing your cheeks every time you sit down and you will be very uncomfortable.
Sorry I didn't answer right away, I was on vacation.

    1. I am sorry I have to delete your comment. I am OK with sharing some charts on designers garments for free, but I do not support coping other designers patterns and selling them for your own profit. You should create something of your own and sell it.
